The Four Poster Room
The room next to the Silver Room to the east was probably a spare bedroom. Its name reflects the fact that for many years a four poster bed stood in it. The two kingwood wardrobes were made at the turn of the last century by Holland & Sons for Queen Alexandra, King Edward VII’s bride, and were bought at a sale of the contents of Marlborough House around 1960. Next to it the bathroom which presumably served as a small dressing room and led to a valet/maid room which has now been converted into a second bathroom.
